Announcing our new Climate Litigation Toolkit

NEW Resource for Scientists

We are excited to announce the latest resource in the ongoing fight for climate progress: our new Climate Litigation Toolkit!

As climate litigation heats up, scientists are increasingly testifying as expert witnesses, providing consulting advice to attorneys general and other lawyers, and engaging in other forms of scientific consulting work.

This toolkit includes our pocket guides for Creating an LLC and Other Legal Strategies for Consulting or Expert Witness Work, What to Expect When You’re an Expert Witness (Part 1 and Part 2), and other resources that may be useful. For other ways to participate in policymaking, please see our guide How Scientists Can Participate in Government Rulemaking,

We hope that this new toolkit will help empower researchers who wish to take part in furthering climate progress by providing scientific expertise to lawyers and policymakers. While there are potential legal risks with this work, those risks can be mitigated with the help of the resources in this toolkit.

Check out the Climate Litigation Toolkit here, and please consider sharing this toolkit with others to help spread the word about how to safely engage in climate litigation and other scientific consulting work.

If you are a scientist with a legal question related to your work, please contact us at lawyer@csldf.org or (646) 801-0853 for a free and confidential legal consultation.
