“The Republican War on Science” is the title of a book from 2005. In it, journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Chris Mooney argues that the US government distorted or suppressed scientific findings around twenty years ago in order to promote its own political goals. Some US observers are now referring to this “war on science” again. It has reached a new level after just three weeks of Donald Trump’s term in office, says lawyer Lauren Kurtz.
